The late Lee Sun Kyun’s name has appeared in the ending credits of film The King’s Warden, which is approaching the 10 million viewer milestone.
Recently, photos of the movie’s ending credits began circulating online. In the images, Lee Sun Kyun’s name is listed under the message, “The production team would like to extend special thanks to the following individuals,” sparking public interest.

Director Jang Hang Jun previously shared a close connection with the late actor, having appeared together on the 2023 variety show The Most Private Asia. Because of this, some viewers speculate that the inclusion of Lee Sun Kyun’s name may have been intended as a tribute.
When asked about the matter, representatives for The King’s Warden told Newsen they had “no comment.”
As of March 2nd, the film has reached a cumulative audience of 9,213,410 viewers. With fewer than 800,000 viewers needed to surpass 10 million, attention is now focused on whether the film can maintain its box office momentum.
