The advertising industry is beginning to distance itself from Kim Seon Ho as allegations mount that he used a family corporation to evade taxes.
However, his loyal fanbase is holding strong with his upcoming theater performances completely sold out.
According to industry sources on February 4th, fashion brand Beanpole made its “2026 Spring Collection” teaser video private on YouTube and social media. The video had only been uploaded the previous day.
Beanpole had originally planned to release the main campaign video featuring Kim, but it has now been canceled.
In response, international fans from countries like Brazil and Venezuela have flooded the brand’s social media accounts with comments such as “We support Kim Seon Ho” and “We are with you,” protesting the decision to hide the content based on unproven allegations.
Currently, other brands, including health supplement company NutriDay and cosmetic brand Imele, have kept their advertisements featuring Kim publicly available.
Despite the controversy, Kim’s acting career remains active. His upcoming play, INTERVAL, is proceeding as scheduled. A representative for the production stated, “We are preparing for the opening without any changes.”
Kim will star as the lead character Dong Jae in the play, which opens on February 13th at the NOL Theater in Daehangno. All tickets for performances featuring Kim have already sold out through March 22nd.
The status of his on-screen projects remains uncertain.
A representative for Disney Plus commented cautiously on the release of Portraits of Delusion, a highly anticipated mystery melodrama starring Kim and Suzy. “The specific release schedule has not been confirmed,” the representative told Xportsnews. The drama, set in 1935 Gyeongseong, follows a painter commissioned to paint a mysterious woman.
Regarding the rumored TVING original series Unfriend, previously known as In the Net, a TVING official clarified to eDaily that the show “is not a TVING original” and its release has not been confirmed.
Kim’s fans continue to argue that he is being unfairly condemned based on suspicion, especially before any official investigation by the National Tax Service has even been launched.
