Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, has denied the accusations of tampering involving NewJeans.

On January 28th, her lawyer held an emergency press conference in Seoul. Min Hee Jin did not attend the conference. Attorney Kim explained, “There are issues concerning the families of NewJeans members. She was shocked by recent discussions about family matters. This made it difficult for her to appear.”

Attorney Kim continued, “Min Hee Jin has no responsibility for any tampering involving NewJeans. There are others using this situation, and she was taken advantage of by those disrupting the stock market.”

He added, “One of NewJeans’ members’ families was involved, which made it hard to respond properly at the time. This press conference is being held after a series of recent incidents.”

Attorney Kim further explained that Min Hee Jin is being sued by ADOR and that the lawsuit claims she separated the NewJeans members from the company and violated ADOR’s management rights. “Min Hee Jin believed her relationship with ADOR had been resolved, and that the NewJeans members were returning to ADOR.”

He clarified the reason for the press conference: “However, ADOR terminated Danielle’s contract and filed a damages lawsuit. This raised concerns that it could be an attempt to disband NewJeans entirely. During the shareholder agreement dispute with HYBE, a member’s family tried to use the situation, and we had no choice but to speak out.”

Attorney Kim then revealed, “Min Hee Jin found out that the tampering wasn’t her doing. It was a conspiracy to manipulate stock prices, led by a member’s family in collaboration with a businessperson. Evidence shows these people used Min Hee Jin and the NewJeans members to make a profit. We believe this was a nationwide fraud designed to boost a company’s stock price.”

He concluded, “Min Hee Jin tried to reach an agreement with HYBE and was ready to give up her shareholder rights to bring NewJeans back and allow them to continue. But a member’s family, claiming to know HYBE’s top management, exploited her situation to plan the tampering and involve stock market disruptors. This is the real story behind the ‘NewJeans tampering.'”

Meanwhile, ADOR has confirmed that NewJeans members Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni are returning. Discussions are still ongoing with Minji, while Danielle’s contract has been terminated. ADOR is seeking 43.1 billion won in damages from Danielle, her family, and Min Hee Jin.
