There is a boy group who packs a punch and their tender-hearted songs will surely drive fans wild. Five-member boy group POW debuted under GRID Entertainment in 2023 and have since captured the hearts of many fans with their charming vocals and handsome faces to match, too.
Members JUNGBIN, YORCH, HYUNBIN, DONGYEON, and HONG started off with a warm-hearted boy-next-door concept with their first EP album, Favorite. Now, the boys have returned with a wondrous song just for fans that expresses how much they adore and cherish their POWER (fandom) along the way. “Gimme Love” is an adorable track with an infectious guitar riff that floats along the honey butter voices of each member who share their love sincerely.
POW took the time to not only talk about their new single that was specifically prepared for fans and written by the members but also share their journey as youthful K-Pop idols. They shared plenty of fun personal stories with ZAPZEE as well. Take a moment to watch their exclusive greeting video for fans and read more about the powerful boy group.
Q. POW made “Gimme Love” their special single for fans. Can you tell us about this new and exciting track?
JUNGBIN: “Gimme Love” is a song that expresses our gratitude to our fans who have supported us since our debut. So, we wanted to release it on the most romantic day of the year as a special way to convey our feelings. That’s why we first performed it for the very first time to fans on our Valentine’s stage on Valentine’s Day. We did this last year as well.
How does “Gimme Love” differ from your previous hits? Is there a song you think new fans should hear that represents POW’s signature style?
YORCH: This song is much easier to sing along to compared to our previous music. Since it’s a confession song, we wanted the lyrics to feel natural and effortless to say. It’s also extra special because JUNGBIN and I participated in the songwriting process. As for a song that really showcases POW’s style, I’d say “Favorite” is a must-listen.
Q. POW debuted a year and a half ago in 2023- How do you feel about your current success?
DONGYEON: There are so many things I’m grateful for, but at the same time, I feel like we still have a long way to go. We often remind ourselves that we need to keep improving to show an even better version of ourselves in return for all the support we receive.
Q. The group has toured various countries and was last seen in New York performing for iHeartRadio Jingle Ball. What was that experience like, and what did you think of New York City?
HYUNBIN: It’s an incredible privilege to perform in different cities and meet fans from all over the world. In New York, we noticed that the audience wasn’t just K-pop fans but also general music listeners. Even though many of them weren’t familiar with us, they still cheered us on and enjoyed our performance, which made it such a meaningful experience.
Q. If there is anything you could do in New York City, what would it be? Is there another country you wish to visit?
HONG: I actually attended New York Fashion Week with YORCH around the time of our debut, and I’d love the opportunity to go again. Hopefully, next time, I’ll visit as an artist representing a brand. As for places I want to visit, there are so many! Rather than choosing just one, I’d love to travel the world and meet all of our fans everywhere.
Some members are Filipino and Thai, is there ever a challenge communicating or singing in Korean? How did you learn the language?
YORCH: Singing in Korean is really difficult because what I hear and what native speakers hear can be different. Sometimes, even if I think I’m pronouncing something correctly, it turns out I’m not, which can be frustrating. Thankfully, my members are always there to help me out. I started learning Korean through lessons like other foreign trainees, but these days, I feel like I learn the most from my members. Sometimes out of the blue, the staff says, “Yorch, how do you know that phrase?!”, haha.
Q. What was your favorite TikTok challenge or Instagram reel of 2024?
YORCH: The Slay Challenge! When I first saw it, I couldn’t believe someone actually came up with it. I kept practicing and having fun with it.
DONGYEON: I’d say the short-form video we uploaded called Slay was good too. It reminds me of the Slickback challenge. We had a blast filming it, and it ended up getting a ton of views.
HYUNBIN: I find our own song challenges really fun to follow! It’s especially fascinating to see people make videos using our songs and have others follow along.
JUNGBIN: The Baby Laughter Challenge is my favorite. We filmed it using our real, unfiltered laughs, which made it hilarious.
HONG: I also really enjoyed the Slay Challenge. It’s received a lot of views too!

Q. Are there currently any K-Dramas you are enjoying?
YORCH: I’m interested in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, but I’ve only had time to watch the first episode. I also just started a Chinese drama called Hidden Love (Tou Tou Cang Bu Zhu).
DONGYEON: I don’t watch dramas often, but I’ve been trying to get through Hospital Playlist, though I’ve only made it to episode two so far.
HYUNBIN: I started a Japanese drama called The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House. Unlike a lot of the intense shows these days, this one feels really comforting and relaxing to watch.
JUNGBIN: I’m not watching anything at the moment, but I’m planning to start Crazy Delicious. I’ve always been a fan of Solitary Gourmet, so I’m excited for this one!
HONG: I haven’t been watching dramas lately, but the last one I really enjoyed was Queen of Tears. I was completely drawn in by the actors’ performances.
After sharing their stories and flashing some smiles, the members of POW didn’t forget to thank their fans POWER and express just how much of an impact the fans have had on their K-Pop career. POW shared a special message with fans before wrapping things up with ZAPZEE.
YORCH: Thank you for always being there for us. Your support means everything, and we promise to work harder to bring you even better music and performances. So please stay with us on this journey. We look forward to your love and support!
HONG: Thank you, and we love you, POWER.
JUNBIN: We are always grateful for our fans. Thank you for your support!!
DONGYEON: Give your love to “Gimme Love” too.
