Hong Sang Soo and Kim Min Hee have welcomed a baby boy.
Dispatch reported that Kim Min Hee recently gave birth to a son and is currently staying at a postpartum care center in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province.
News of Kim Min Hee’s pregnancy was first reported in January. It was revealed that she had naturally conceived Hong Sang Soo’s child in the summer of last year, and the couple was spotted visiting an obstetrics clinic together for a check-up.
In February, Kim Min Hee and director Hong Sang Soo were seen departing from Incheon International Airport to attend the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. Kim Min Hee drew public attention at that time, as she was visibly in the late stages of pregnancy.
Director Hong Sang Soo and Kim Min Hee first met while working on the film Right Now, Wrong Then (2015) and became romantically involved despite a 22-year age gap. In 2017, during a press conference for On the Beach at Night Alone, Hong officially acknowledged their relationship. Since then, the two have been in a long-term relationship that has effectively been viewed as an affair.
Hong Sang Soo has one daughter from his marriage.
