As The Match prepares for its long-awaited release, Lee Byung Hun has opened up about his experience working alongside Yoo Ah In.
At a press screening held on March 20th, Lee reflected on the film’s journey to theaters and shared his thoughts on acting opposite Yoo.
Lee admitted that he had been eager to see who would play his rival in the film. “When I first signed on to ‘The Match,’ I was really excited to see who would be cast alongside me. Since this was my first time working with Yoo Ah In, I was curious to see how our dynamic would unfold.”
He went on to describe Yoo Ah In as more reserved than expected. “He was a very quiet junior actor. We didn’t talk much or have a lot of time to get to know each other outside of filming. There weren’t many rehearsals or group dinners, but on set, he was intensely focused. That level of immersion made it easy for me to get lost in the scene as well.”
Despite the hurdles The Match faced before its release, Lee expressed his excitement about finally sharing it with audiences. “I’m always nervous before a film’s release, wondering how audiences will react. But more than anything, I’m just thrilled that after all the hurdles, this film is finally making it to the big screen.”
The Match is set to hit theaters on March 26th.
