Director Yeon Sang Ho’s new film Colony has officially begun production, unveiling an impressive cast lineup including Jun Ji Hyun, Koo Kyo Hwan, Ji Chang Wook, Shin Hyun Been, Kim Shin Rock and Go Soo.

Colony revolves around a building that gets quarantined due to a mysterious virus, with infected people evolving in unpredictable ways and threatening the survivors.

The film has been generating buzz early on as the latest work from director Yeon Sang Ho, known for presenting imaginative and original stories through films like Train to Busan, Peninsula, and series such as Hellbound and Parasyte: The Grey. News of Jun Ji Hyun, Ji Chang Wook, and Go Soo newly joining the “Yeon-iverse” (Yeon Sang Ho Universe) has particularly captivated film fans’ attention.

The historic first collaboration between Jun Ji Hyun, who’s returning to the big screen for the first time in about 10 years since Assassination, and director Yeon Sang Ho is enough to generate intense anticipation. Ji Chang Wook, who has shown a wide-ranging acting spectrum across both films and series, is also taking on a new genre. Additionally, Go Soo will make a special appearance, adding to the film’s stellar casting.

Furthermore, the participation of Yeon’s trusted collaborators—Koo Kyo Hwan, Shin Hyun Been, and Kim Shin Rock—completes the flawless lineup of actors for Colony.

Koo Kyo Hwan reunites with director Yeon Sang Ho following the film Peninsula and series Monstrous and Parasyte: The Grey, while Shin Hyun Been also returns to Yeon’s universe after the series Monstrous and the upcoming film Revelations. Kim Shin Rock from the series Hellbound also meets with director Yeon once again, drawing viewers’ attention.

Director Yeon Sang Ho shared, “I have begun a long journey with the goal of presenting high-quality entertainment that audiences can enjoy in theaters, alongside such excellent actors and staff. I’m standing at the starting line with tremendous excitement and anticipation. Please look forward to it with great interest.”

Meanwhile, Colony began production in March and is currently filming.
