Jessica had an emotional moment on stage while revisiting her Girls’ Generation days.

The singer held her solo concert “Reflections in Vietnam” on April 18th, where she performed a medley of the group’s biggest hits, including “Gee,” “Genie,” “I Got A Boy,” “The Boys,” and “Mr.Mr.”

During a ballad version of the group’s debut song “Into the New World,” Jessica appeared overwhelmed with emotion, tearing up mid-performance.

It’s not the first time she’s performed Girls’ Generation tracks at her solo shows. She also drew attention for including them in her setlist during a concert in Malaysia earlier this year.

The performances, however, have sparked mixed reactions. Some fans see it as a heartfelt nod to her past and a gift to longtime supporters, while others question whether she continues to lean on the group’s legacy.

Reactions to her emotional moment in Vietnam have been similarly divided. Some believe the tears reflect lingering feelings about her time with the group and her departure, while others caution against overreading it as anything more than a reflective moment.

Jessica debuted with Girls’ Generation in 2007 before leaving the group in 2014. Since then, she has focused on her fashion business and solo career. In August 2022, she released her novel Bright, which follows a character removed from a nine-member girl group—sparking speculation about parallels to her own experience.
