NewJeans publicly showed their support for Min Hee Jin, the recently ousted CEO of their label ADOR, during their acceptance speeches at the 2024 The Fact Music Awards in Osaka, Japan.

On October 8th, NewJeans took home four major awards, including Worldwide Icon, World Best Performer, Artist of the Year, and the Musinsa Popularity Award. In their heartfelt acceptance speeches, the members took a moment to acknowledge Min Hee Jin’s significant role in their journey.

During their Artist of the Year speech, leader Minji expressed her gratitude, saying, “The reason we can receive this award is because of everyone who has supported us and listened to our music. We’re incredibly thankful to our fans, Bunnies.”

Danielle, while accepting the Musinsa Popularity Award, made a special mention of the team behind the scenes, “So many people helped us, from our amazing staff to our hair and makeup staff and performance directors. And lastly, we want to thank our CEO, Min Hee Jin, who always cares for us. We love and appreciate you so much.”

Later, when accepting the Worldwide Icon award, the group extended their thanks to their label, saying, “To win this award, you need a high-quality body of work, and we’re so grateful to the people at our company who work tirelessly day and night for us. We promise to pour our hearts into every performance.” As the group prepared to leave the stage, Hyein took the microphone one last time, saying, “Before we go, I just want to say a huge thank you to our CEO. We love you so much.”

In light of Min Hee Jin’s recent removal as CEO of ADOR, many in the industry are interpreting NewJeans’ comments as a public show of support for her. Min Hee Jin was ousted on August 27th following internal disputes with ADOR’s parent company, HYBE. While ADOR has stated that she will continue to produce for NewJeans, Min Hee Jin has refused to sign a contract, citing concerns over restrictive clauses. Kim Joo Young, ADOR’s in-house director and HYBE’s Chief Human Resources Officer, has since been appointed as the new CEO.
