In light of recent collective resignations in the medical sector, Resident Playbook has been scheduled for the second half of the year.

According to OSEN’s report on March 21st, tvN has decided to air Resident Playbook in the latter half of this year, instead as a follow-up of Queen of Tears.

Resident Playbook is a spin-off of Hospital Playlist. The drama stars rising talents Go Youn Jung, Shin Sia, Han Yezee, Kang You Seok, and Jung Jun Won. While Hospital Playlist was set in the main Yulje Hospital, Resident Playbook shifts its setting to the Jongno Yulje Hospital, focusing on the hospital life of obstetrics and gynecology residents. However, the recent mass resignations of residents from major hospitals, leading to a gap in medical services, have cast a shadow over medical dramas, including Resident Playbook.

Consequently, Queen of Tears will be followed by The Midnight Romance in Hagwon, starring Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Jun.

The Midnight Romance in Hagwon is a romance drama about veteran academy instructor Seo Hye Jin (Jung Rye Won) and her audacious former student Lee Jun Ho (Wi Ha Jun), who returns after 10 years to stir up her life. Directed by Ahn Pan Seok, known for creating Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, and Secret Affair, the drama is highly anticipated.
