Seungri faced criticism for mentioning G-Dragon’s name during an overseas fan event.
Seungri was spotted at a Cambodian event in photos posted on various online platforms on January 23rd. The video inside the post captures the former BIGBANG member enjoying the fan meet with global fans.
During the event, Seungri shouted, “I’ll bring G-Dragon here someday,” and danced to G-Dragon and Taeyang’s song “GOOD BOY.”
Back in 2022, Seungri faced imprisonment in connection with the Burning Sun scandal. The Burning Sun scandal refers to the crimes in the entertainment and nightlife industry that started with the assault incident at Club Burning Sun in late November 2018. Celebrities like Seungri, Jung Joon Young and Choi Jong Hoon were sent to jail, and Seungri was released on February 9th last year after serving a one-year and six-month sentence.
Since his release, he has come under fire for showing no remorse for his actions. There have also been suspicions and controversies surrounding Seungri, including allegations of meeting overseas celebrities involved in drug controversies and having multiple relationships with different women.
A month earlier, Seungri was seen at an extravagant party with his close friends. In December of last year, Thai singer and actress Kannarun Wongkajornklai gave a sneak peek into Seungri’s first birthday celebration in Thailand following his release from prison. She posted on her Instagram, “Wishing my boy, SEUNGRI, a happy 33rd birthday! All the best to you, bratha! Loads of love always♥,” and shared a photo of the former idol celebrating with friends and a cake.
