Lim Ji Yeon is stepping into a bold new role and she’s not holding back.
SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama My Royal Nemesis, premiering May 8th, follows an unknown actress whose body becomes host to the soul of a notorious Joseon-era villainess, setting off a chaotic, battle-of-wills romance with a ruthless chaebol heir.
In the newly released teaser, Lim plays Kang Dan Sim, a woman executed by poison in the Joseon era, who suddenly wakes up in the 21st century as struggling actress Shin Seo Ri. Initially disoriented, Seo Ri quickly snaps into survival mode, declaring, “Like hell I’d rather die,” before vowing to fight her way through this new life.
The clip shows her adapting fast—reading newspapers, sprinting through the streets and even throwing a flying kick—signaling a character driven by sheer determination.
Her dynamic with Heo Nam Jun’s Cha Se Gye is just as intense. Seo Ri boldly tells him she’ll use him as both her “spear and shield,” jumps straight into his arms and even slaps him when he’s unconscious—setting the tone for their volatile, love-hate relationship. His reaction? “You’re seriously something else.”
My Royal Nemesis is gearing up to deliver a high-energy rom-com with an edge when it premieres May 8th at 9:50 PM KST.
