Lim Ji Yeon got the surprise of her life during her very first meeting with actress Kim Hye Yoon.
On the latest episode of tvN’s variety show Fresh Off the Sea 2, viewers followed the “four siblings”—Yum Jung Ah, Park Joon Myun Lim Ji Yeon, and Lee Jae Wook—as they headed to their third travel destination: Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province. After enjoying a feast, the cast was informed by producers that they’d be heading out for a webfoot octopus catch the next morning at 8:40 AM, prompting the group to hit the hay early with a 7:30 wake-up goal.
But the quiet morning took a turn even before 7 AM when an unexpected guest, Kim Hye Yoon, arrived. Having worked with Yum Jung Ah as mother and daughter in SKY Castle and sharing romance scenes with Lee Jae Wook in Extraordinary You, Kim Hye Yoon became the first person in Fresh off the Sea history to arrive before the main cast woke up.
Worried about waking the sleeping cast with car sounds, Kim Hye Yoon got out at a distance and quietly walked in. When she called Yum Jung Ah “Mom,” Yum immediately jumped up saying, “Hye Yoon, why are you here?” while Park Jun Myun responded with confusion: “What? Who is it?” Lim Ji Yeon, caught off guard, buried herself under the blankets.
Yum Jung Ah was the first to collect herself, calling Kim Hye Yoon by her SKY Castle character name: “Ye Seo, what are you doing here instead of studying? Why did they tell you to come so early? We have to go catch octopus.” Kim Hye Yoon replied in surprise, “We’re going octopus fishing? I don’t know anything about it.”
Lim Ji Yeon, finally waking up properly, couldn’t hide her embarrassment: “Are you kidding me? This is my first time meeting her and I look like hell. This is mortifying.” Park Joon Myun chimed in with a laugh, “Same here. I look like sh*t.”
Kim Hye Yoon then entered Lee Jae Wook’s room, calling “Jae Wook” to wake him up, but he simply pulled the covers over himself and went back to sleep. Seeing this, Kim Hye Yoon said, “Sleep well. Unbelievable,” showing off their real-life chemistry and longtime friendship.
