Netflix has locked in the premiere date for its upcoming series The WONDERfools—and it’s bringing a quirky twist to the superhero genre.
Set to debut on May 15th, the show follows a group of unlikely misfits who suddenly gain superpowers in 1999 and must band together to take on a villain threatening their city. Equal parts chaotic and comedic, the series promises “lovable misfits on a superpowered adventure,” as teased in the newly released poster.
The project is already drawing attention for reuniting Park Eun Bin with director Yoo In Sik, known for their previous collaboration in Extraordinary Attorney Woo.

The trailer leans fully into that chaotic energy. It opens on the self-proclaimed “misfits” of Haeseong City, instantly setting the tone. As someone declares, “I think there’s something wrong with all of us,” Chae Ni (Park Eun Bin) breaks into an unrestrained dance, embodying her carefree, unapologetic personality—completely indifferent to how others see her.
Each member’s powers also come with a twist. One can pull objects through the air, another finds a phone stuck to his hand, while another rips a car door apart like paper. But instead of mastering their abilities, they’re clearly still figuring things out—leading to plenty of clumsy, unpredictable moments.
The teaser wraps with the group awkwardly gathered for volunteer work, hinting at their chaotic chemistry and the kind of humor the series will lean into.
With its offbeat charm, The WONDERfools is shaping up to be a fresh, fun entry in Netflix’s lineup when it premieres May 15th.
