This new highly-anticipated drama tells the story of Sam Dal (Shin Hye Sun), who suffers a sudden downfall in Seoul and returns to her hometown. There, she reunites with her childhood friend and ex-boyfriend, Yong Pil (Ji Chang Wook), igniting a heartfelt love story as they rediscover their affection for each other.

While Sam Dal dreamt of soaring skies, Yong Pil has always protected his own stream, Jeju Island. Now, he wants to be the haven for Sam Dal, who returns to Jeju after hitting rock bottom. The touching tagline, “Welcome back to me,” reflects his affection for her.

Sam Dal, once a top photographer in Seoul with the alias Jo Eun Hye, finds herself back in her dreaded hometown following an unexpected downfall. Despite her discomfort with Yong Pil, her childhood friend-turned-ex-boyfriend, and the scrutiny of the locals that she had anticipated, she finds healing and encouragement through the warm-hearted people of Samdalri.

Having experienced deep love and tearful breakup, their reunion after eight years marks a complex and multifaceted relationship.

Meanwhile, Welcome to Samdalri is the first collaboration between When the Camellia Blooms director Cha Young Hoon and Go Back Couple writer Kwon Hye Joo. The drama will premiere on December 2nd at 10:30 PM KST.
