Park Shin Hye has officially locked in her next project.

Studio S CEO Hong Sung Chang announced that the actress will star in the second season of the hit SBS series The Judge from Hell during the SBS Drama Media Day at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery. Park, who is currently pregnant with her second child and expecting this fall, will return to the screen after giving birth. CEO Hong also shared that Dash (literal title), a new series starring Shin Hae Sun, is currently in production.

This announcement kicks off an ambitious upcoming slate for the network. In the latter half of the year, SBS will debut several highly anticipated projects, including Manager Kim starring So Ji Sub, Flex X Cop Season 2 starring Ahn Bo Hyun, Doctor X starring Kim Ji Won, Good Partner Season 2 starring Jang Nara, and Nine to Six (literal title) starring Park Min Young. Looking ahead to next year, viewers can expect EXCITATIO—a new occult exorcism drama following in the footsteps of The Fiery Priest—as well as The Long Shot Trial starring Lee Je Hoon, Nightmare (literal translation) starring Kim Nam Gil, and the baseball-themed drama FULLCOUNT.

Kim Ki Seulk, SBS’s Head of Programming, expressed mixed feelings of excitement and pressure about living up to the network’s high standards. He noted that the network plans to expand its weekday drama lineup starting this November, building on the momentum started by Dynamite Kiss.

Kim also highlighted SBS’s proven track record with multi-season franchises, pointing to the massive success of hits like Taxi Driver, The Fiery Priest and Dr. Romantic. He attributed their strength in creating successful sequels to three core elements: rich world-building, unforgettable characters, and a satisfying focus on justice and common sense.

Over the past six years, Studio S has developed and produced around 60 projects. By consistently delivering mega-hits that surpass a 20% viewership rating—such as Hot Stove League, The Penthouse, Dr. Romantic, Taxi Driver and The Fiery Priest—the studio has firmly cemented its position at the top of the Korean drama market.
