Fans will be delighted to know that tvN’s new drama The Office Worker Who Sees Fate announced on June 2nd that Seo In Guk and Krystal of f(x) have been cast as the main leads for the upcoming series.
Written by Park Hye Jin and directed by Kim Jae Hyun, the exciting new mystical drama is based on the popular web novel of the same name that surpassed 43 million cumulative views on webtoon sites like Munpia and Naver Series with over 172 episodes.
The drama is an office fantasy that tells the story of a protagonist, Choi Young Hoon, who was born with the fate of a shaman and the ability to see others’ fortunes and misfortunes. Just by seeing their face or glimpsing at their fingertips, he can read their past actions, current situation, and future fortunes, and accurately identify their tendencies and mindset to accurately pinpoint what they might think or what they will do next.
Despite his super extraordinary powers, the lead played by Seo In Guk, strives to live an ordinary life by becoming an office worker and forging his own destiny. However, many circumstances arise where Young Hoon uses his ability to see others’ fortunes through their Saju (fortune telling) and physiognomy to correct the chaotic situations around him, while still dreaming of maintaining an ordinary life.
Seo In Guk has been actively taking on diverse roles as of late, following up his recent appearance in Boyfriend on Demand and with the upcoming drama See You At Work Tomorrow! Expectations are high for his performance in ‘The Fortune Teller’s Office Worker,’ an ‘office fantasy’ genre.
Original f(x) member Krystal will portray Im Yeon Hee, a proud ice princess who was born with a fate to be surrounded by enemies. With familiar experiences in past roles, Krystal’s new character matches her well, as Im Yeon Hee is powerful and fiercely pursues her destiny with a strong will, especially disbelieving in unconditional love due to her guarded and prickly personality. With Krystal currently wowing on SNL Korea, fans await her more fleshed-out character as she is set to undergo a new transformation in this upcoming otherworldly series.
