Ahn Hye Kyung officially said “I do” to her beau in an intimate ceremony held in Seoul’s Gangnam District on the 24th.
Initially, Ahn’s husband was simply described as a non-celebrity working in broadcasting. But on the day of the wedding, it was revealed that her new husband is none other than cinematographer Song Yo Hoon, who notably made a splash in the drama Vincenzo.
Adding to the glam factor, actor Song Joong Ki, the male lead of Vincenzo, hosted the ceremony. Taking a break from his new role as a dad after marrying Katie Louise Saunders last January and welcoming a baby in June, Song Joong Ki recently returned to South Korea. He made his first public appearance post-paternity at the press screening of the movie Hopeless on the 22nd, and just a couple of days later, he showed off his loyalty to his Vincenzo family.
Ahn had previously posted on her Instagram that Song Joong Ki attended the final performance of her play Poison last February. She added the caption, “Thanks to Yo Hoon, I’m experiencing these wonderful moments. I’m grateful.”
The ceremony was a star-studded affair, with a who’s who of the entertainment world in attendance. Singer Lee Hyori was among the celebrities who showed up to cheer on her friend. Lee, the same age as Ahn, has often spoken about their close friendship on various occasions. She even took to Instagram Story to share a glimpse into the wedding, warmly embracing the bride and offering her wishes: “Hye Kyung, live happily.”
In a heartfelt statement prior to the wedding, Ahn shared, “Our mutual respect and consideration have led us to this marriage. We met later in life, which will only make our happiness that much more meaningful. I’ll give my all in soccer, acting, broadcasting, and my family life. Here’s to scoring the ultimate goal in life.”
