Netflix’s Notes from the Last Row has set its premiere date for June 26th and released its first poster and teaser.
The series, the latest project from director Kim Kyu Tae of The Trunk and Our Blues, brings together veteran actor Choi Min Sik and rising star Choi Hyun Wook. Notes from the Last Row is a suspense drama about Heo Mun Oh, a failed writer and Korean literature professor who discovers the genius of Lee Kang, a student who sits in the very back row of his classroom, and becomes increasingly obsessed with his writing.
The newly released poster shows Heo Mun Oh (played by Choi Min Sik) and his student Lee Kang (Choi Hyun Wook) in the same frame. Heo Mun Oh’s emotions are written all over his face, while Lee Kang remains impossible to read, heightening curiosity about their unpredictable chemistry.

The teaser opens with Heo Mun Oh staring at his laptop, hesitating before ultimately giving up on writing. After publishing his first novel 20 years ago, Heo Mun Oh has not written another book and now works as a Korean literature professor. Then one day, he meets Lee Kang, a student who always sits in the last row of his classroom.
Heo Mun Oh approaches the seemingly indifferent Lee Kang, whose true thoughts are hard to read, and tells him, “You have talent.” A later scene showing Lee Kang thanking Heo Mun Oh during an acceptance speech raises questions about whether the two will become a meaningful teacher-student pair. Meanwhile, Heo Mun Oh’s frustration as he reads Lee Kang’s writing and mutters, “It’s always ‘to be continued’!” adds to the intrigue around Lee Kang’s extraordinary talent.
As their private lessons continue, the two grow more comfortable with each other, trading jokes and even high-fiving. But the mood takes a sharp turn when Heo Mun Oh asks, “What you wrote in your assignment… is it true?”
Notes from the Last Row premieres June 26th, only on Netflix.
