EXO’s Suho is about to take on a historical drama.

According to a scoop by Starnews on the 22nd, Suho was cast as the male lead of MBN’s new drama tentatively titled The Crown Prince Disappeared (literal title). Suho’s agency SM Entertainment confirmed, “Suho has received an offer from the production team and is currently positively considering it.”

The Crown Prince Disappeared will unravel a Joseon-era rom-com. The plot centers on a crown prince who gets “kidnapped” by the woman destined to be his wife. With a life-on-the-line escape journey as its backdrop, the drama promises to breathe fresh air into the romance of two young characters.

Debuting as the leader of EXO, Suho kicked off his acting career with the 2016 film One Way Trip. More recently, he’s made an impactful special appearance in tvN’s Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun and is meeting viewers on JTBC’s weekend drama Behind Your Touch.

Should he accept this new role, Suho will be adding yet another feather to his already bursting cap of acting credits. What’s more, The Crown Prince Disappeared would mark Suho’s debut in the historical drama genre, which is ramping up excitement among his fans.

To add some icing on the cake, the new drama is penned by Kim Ji Soo and Park Cheol, the writers behind MBN’s record-breaking drama, Bossam: Steal the Fate.
