It tells the story of a genius confectionery researcher, Chi Ho (Yoo Hae Jin), who knows nothing but snacks, and the life-affirming, positive-minded Il Young (Kim Hee Seon). Their unexpected meeting sets the stage for a delectable transformation in their lives.
Kim Hee Seon announced her screen comeback with Honeysweet. In the film, she plays Il Young, who embodies endless positivity and dreams of pure love, radiating a positive energy that brightens even the viewers.
The actress explained the uniqueness of Honeysweet, saying, “It might be the budding romance of adults. Rom-coms are often done by actors in their 10s and 20s. When we talk about adults’ love, it may be perceived as deep and profound. I think the novelty came out since actor Yoo Hae Jin plays the role of Chi Ho.”
Later in the interview, Kim expressed affection for Song Hye Kyo, who attended the movie premiere. “We don’t meet every day, but we often talk on the phone. I wondered what she thought about the movie, and she told me not to worry. I was constantly anxious, so she even sent me links to articles filled with positive reviews,” she shared. “She’s younger than me, but her effort to alleviate my anxiety is beautiful.”
She continued, smiling, “I have a somewhat cheerful personality, while Hye Kyo is more quiet and reserved. Rather than both of us constantly chatting, Hye Kyo tends to listen. I even act cute in front of her, and sometimes she seems more mature than me. We have similar tastes in things, and I think it (our friendship) will last for a long time.”
