The competition is fierce, and the talent is undeniable! The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards in the TV category for Best Supporting Actor and Actress has some of the most deserving actors in the industry vying for the top spot. And here are the five actors nominated for best-supporting award in the TV category.

Best Supporting Actor

Kang Ki Young has been nominated for his portrayal of Jung Myung Seok, a mentor figure who provides guidance and support to the rookie lawyer Woo Young Woo in drama series Extraordinary Attorney Woo. His exceptional performance in the role has earned him the endearing nickname ‘a second dad’ from viewers, which is a testament to his popularity and the strong emotional connection he has established with the audience.

Kim Do Hyun has been nominated for his convincing portrayal of Choi Chang Je, the husband of Jin Hwa Young in drama series Reborn Rich.

Kim Jun Han has won a nomination for his remarkable transformation into Ji Hoon, the CEO of a promising IT company and husband of Anna in drama series Anna.

Park Sung Hoon has received a nomination for his compelling and realistic portrayal of Jeon Jae Joon, one of the school bullies in drama series The Glory

Jo Woo Jin has been nominated for his role as Byeon Ki Tae in the drama series Narco Saints. His outstanding work in the show, especially his portrayal of a character who played a significant role in the big plot twist, made the series all the more immersive and engaging for viewers.

Best Supporting Actress

Kim Shin Rok has been nominated for portraying Jin Hwa Young in drama series Reborn Rich. Her convincing performance as chairman Jin Yang Chul’s youngest daughter, who is both villainous and unhateable, has earned her critical acclaim and recognition from viewers.

Yeom Hye Ran has been nominated for her role as Kang Hyun Nam in drama series The Glory. Yeom’s portrayal of a domestic violence victim who never loses her bright energy is complex and natural. Her line ‘I get beaten, but I am a cheerful bitch’ was delivered with heart-wrenching emotion through her eyes, voice, and gestures, leaving a lasting impact on viewers.

Lee El has been nominated for her portrayal of Yeom Gi Jeong in drama series My Liberation Notes. Lee’s performance in the show was filled with lovely charms, as she brought life to her character’s journey from a determined declaration of ‘I will love anyone’ to falling in love in the latter part of the series.

Lim Ji Yeon, who starred in The Glory, created the buzzword “Hey, Yeon Jin” in the first half of this year. Despite it being her first leading role as a villain, her acting impressed every viewer of the show.

Jung Eun Chae has been nominated for her performance as Lee Hyeon Ju in the drama series Anna. She convincingly portrayed a character who possesses everything that the protagonist Anna desires, but can also be immature and cruel at times.
