KBS came under fire for airing Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki‘s kiss scene at its 50th-anniversary concert.
On the 3rd, KBS hosted a special concert for the network’s 50th anniversary “Your KBS, Our 50 Years” which was broadcast live on KBS 1TV. With Choi Soo Jong, Chae Si Ra, and Kang Ho Dong hosting the event, a colorful performer lineup including Yoon Bok Hee and Kim Chang Wan Band caught the attention.
Later in the concert, Gummy got on stage to sing “You Are My Everything,” the hit OST of the drama Descendants of the Sun. And behind the singer was a large screen showing scenes from the drama. However, the video soon showed Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki’s kiss scene, upsetting the fans. The two met in the drama and got married in 2017 but eventually got divorced about a year and nine months later.
Though Descendants of the Sun is one of the most successful KBS dramas with almost 40% ratings, fans are pointing out that the network could’ve been more considerate of the actors. Especially since Song Joong Ki recently tied the knot with Katie Louis Saunders and announced they’re expecting their first baby.
