MBC’s Kokdu: Season of Deity saw ratings fall sharply in its second episode.

The drama saw a dip with its second episode as it recorded a nationwide rating of 2.2 percent, a significantly lower rating than the premiere episode’s 4.8 percent.

This is a noticeable decline in viewership, considering that The Forbidden Marriage recorded an average nationwide rating of 3.9 percent with the lowest of 3 percent.

Kokdu: Season of Deity is a fantasy romance series about Kokdu, a cursed grim reaper, and Han Gye Jeol, a woman in an incredibly unfortunate situation. Kim Jung Hyun plays three different roles in this drama: an ancient warrior, Do Jin Woo and grim reaper Kokdu. Im Soo Hyang also plays two different characters in different timelines.

Despite the various characters that appear in the series, the show is receiving mixed reviews due to its overused formula and lackluster characters.

Meanwhile, SBS’ Payback, JTBC’s Agency and tvN’s Crash Course in Romance are already building loyal fanbases. Will Kokdu: Season of Deity be able to emerge victorious over its rivals?
