BABYMONSTER is coming your way. And it seems like even the YG artists can’t wait to see what they’ll show.

On January 1st, YG dropped a new video titled “YG NEXT MOVEMENT,” officially announcing the launch of its new 7-member girl group BABYMONSTER. In the video, not only producer Yang Hyun Suk but other YG artists including WINNER, AKMU, and BLACKPINK also lavishly praise this first girl band the label is launching in seven years.

While comments like “There aren’t that many talents out there” and “I think they’re the type of singers that’s hard to find in Korea” catch the attention, BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Jennie also appeared to raise expectations. Lisa said, “All seven members go well with each other,” while Jennie commented, “They’re really good overall.” Lisa was even spotted teaching the girls choreography herself.

While no information about the seven girls has been released, YG introduced, “All members of BABYMONSTER made the thousands-to-one competition to become YG trainees. This group is made up of talented girls in their 10s who have undergone professional training for the past four years.” Sharing the label’s plan to sequentially introduce the skills and information of the members, YG added, “Since they’re still just trainees, we planned this project with the intent of showing off BABYMONSTER’s prowess and talents to the public without filtering and receiving honest assessments.”
