Celebrities are grieving for the victims of the Itaewon Halloween crowd crush.

On the afternoon of the 29th, tens of thousands of people flooded into Itaewon to celebrate Halloween, leading to a deadly crowd crush. As of 5 AM KST today, a report says 154 dead and 133 injured.

The day after the tragedy, Kim Hye Soo took to her Instagram Story to share the news about the Itaewon tragedy and left contact info where people can report missing persons, “You can report missing persons on the third floor of the Hannam-dong Community Service Center.” Kim Gyuri posted a picture of chrysanthemum and wrote, “I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family. May the deceased rest in peace.” Bae In Hyuk mourned the death of his friend, “Rest in peace. I hope you’re happy there, my friend.”

Soccer player Son Heung Min wrote, “I heard the news about the accident. I really hope there will be no more unfortunate victims and express my deepest condolences to the victims.”

Big Bang’s G-Dragon also expressed his condolences. “I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family. I wish a speedy recovery for those injured.” Lee Min Jung posted, “It’s a very scary accident that should never be repeated. I’ll pray for you. Rest in peace.”

Kim Hee Seon quietly mourned for the dead by posting a picture of a chrysanthemum without any captions, while Koo Jun Yeop and Barbie Hsu couple took to their social media to leave a short message “R.I.P.”

Events including concerts and the launch of new albums and shows were either canceled and postponed.

SM Entertainment announced on the morning of the 30th, “The live broadcast of the red carpet event of ‘SMTOWN WONDERLAND 2022,’ scheduled to be broadcast live for free through the global platform Beyond LIVE, has been canceled.” Additionally, events such as the Busan One Asia Festival and the Strike Music Festival, as well as concerts by Kim Junsu and Jang Yoon Jung have been canceled.

EXO’s Chen, who was getting ready for his comeback with his third mini-album, Yong Joonhyung, Jeong Eun Ji, Xdinary Heroes, DRIPPIN, and more postponed their comeback.

Jung Il Woo canceled his fan meeting to be held in Japan, while Netflix temporarily delayed the release of its new original series The Fabulous. KBS canceled the press conference of its new drama Curtain Call but it’ll still premiere on the same date.

Running Man, 2 Days & 1 Night, Street Man Fighter, Show Me the Money 11, M Countdown, and more also canceled their upcoming episodes. Moreover, Confession and Remember canceled the cast’s stage greetings scheduled on the 30th, and Don Lee’s new movie Men of Plastic canceled the press conference.
