Lee Soo Hyuk has stepped away from the upcoming Netflix series Men of the Harem.

According to an August 19th report by Xportsnews, the actor recently decided to leave the new drama due to scheduling conflicts.

Based on the Naver web novel of the same name by Alphatart, Men of the Harem is a palace-set romantic fantasy centered on Latil, an empress who takes in a group of male concubines in order to protect her throne.

Lee had been set to play one of Latil’s concubines, with Suzy starring as the empress. Production on the series is now fully underway, and Lee’s departure has left the role vacant.

His agency, Saram Entertainment, confirmed the news, saying, “He decided to step down due to scheduling conflicts.” The agency declined to comment on whether Lee had already taken part in filming.

Lee has completed filming for the Netflix projects Grand Galaxy Hotel and Dealer, both of which are awaiting release. With Men of the Harem no longer part of his lineup, attention is now turning to what project the actor will take on next.

Men of the Harem has drawn attention for casting Suzy in the lead role of Latil. The series also stars Shin Seung Ho, Dex, Kim Dan and Yoo Jung Hoo.

The drama is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2027.
