Yun Chaekyung, formerly of APRIL, has opened up about a painful experience involving someone she once trusted deeply.
Yun Chaekyung interacted with fans through social media on August 17th. One fan asked how she had been doing lately during a Q&A.
Yun Chaekyung responded with a cryptic message, saying she had been deeply hurt and betrayed by the person she trusted most.
“I’ve been hurt and betrayed by the person I trusted most in the world, and I still haven’t been able to get over it,” she wrote. “It’s hard to believe someone like this exists, but I have to accept it. Every word that comes out of their mouth is a lie. I’m shocked that they don’t even feel the need to apologize, but I believe everything will come back to them someday. Let’s be happier, all of us.”
When another fan offered words of encouragement, telling her that better days were ahead and that her life was too precious to waste on someone who hurt her, Yun Chaekyung replied, “Yes. I’m lucky I found out now.”
Yun Chaekyung made her debut in 2012 as a member of PURETTY before joining APRIL in 2017. After APRIL disbanded in 2022, she began focusing on acting.
Yun Chaekyung was linked to badminton player Lee Yong Dae in dating rumors in November 2025. Her agency said at the time that it was “difficult to confirm due to privacy matters.”
Lee Yong Dae was previously married to former actress Byun Soo Mi in 2017 after dating for six years. The couple divorced in 2018, just one year after their wedding. They have a daughter, and Lee Yong Dae has custody of her. He has also spoken about his struggles with remarriage on the variety show My Little Old Boy.
