Rumors are swirling that actress and former K-pop idol Yoon Chae Kyung is dating former national badminton star Lee Yong Dae.
A Korean media outlet reported on November 19th that the pair has been in a serious romantic relationship for about a year. The report claimed that despite their eight-year age difference, the two have been open about their relationship, introducing each other to acquaintances as partners.
In response to the growing speculation, Yoon Chae Kyung’s agency, PA Entertainment, issued a brief statement to Ilgan Sports later that day. “It is difficult to confirm details as it concerns her private life,” the agency stated, neither confirming nor denying the relationship.
Yoon Chae Kyung, born in 1996, first rose to fame as a member of the girl group APRIL. Since transitioning to acting, she has appeared in dramas such as KBS2’s Korea-Khitan War and TV Chosun’s Confidence Queen.
Lee Yong Dae, born in 1988, is a celebrated figure in South Korean sports. He won a gold medal in mixed doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a bronze in men’s doubles at the 2012 London Olympics. He was previously married to actress Byun Soo-mi in 2017 after six years of dating; the couple divorced in 2018, approximately one year later.
