Broker, which officially got invited to the 75th Cannes, released a sentimental teaser.
Broker follows the unexpected and special journey of those intertwined over a baby box. The released teaser draws attention from the start by showing IU’s soft lullaby. Soon, Sang Hyun (Song Kang Ho), who calls himself a broker of goodwill, and his partner Dong Soo (Kang Dong Won) try to find new parents for a baby left in a baby box.
The story that starts with the baby box raises curiosity as the copy “Some are born, and some get abandoned” shows up. Here, So Young (IU), a mysterious woman who left the baby in the baby box but then came back for the baby, adds expectations to this unexpected journey.
In the meantime, detective Soo Jin (Bae Doo Na) and her partner Lee (Lee Joo Young) follow their journey to put an end to the case they’ve been working on for so long. The sight of the brokers laughing together in the van and Sang Hyun’s words – “Let’s be happy with us” – herald a touching and heartfelt story.
Meanwhile, Broker is the first Korean movie directed by the world-renowned Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda. It’s slated for release in June.
