SHINee’s Onew is making his solo comeback.
Earlier today, Sports Chosun reported that Onew is working on his solo album with a goal to drop it next month. SM Entertainment responded, “Onew is preparing his solo album to release in April.”
This marks the singer’s return to the K-pop scene solo after 3 years and 4 months since the release of his first mini-album Blue in December 2018. In the meantime, he has only been promoting as SHINee and taking part in OST albums or musicals.
In fact in January, Onew hinted at his solo comeback. He appeared in My Little Old Boy and shared, “If you wait a little longer, I think I can repay your love with a great song.”
Back when he made his official solo debut with Blue, Onew received a good response from global fans. Not only did he rank first on various Korean music charts, but he also topped iTunes Top Album Chart in 25 regions. Naturally, expectations for his solo comeback are through the roof.
