Apple original series Pachinko will be released worldwide on March 25th.

Based on the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name, the eight-episode drama Parchiko chronicles the hopes and dreams of four generations of a Korean immigrant family. Media Res produced the drama, while Korean-American Soo Hugh, who oversaw season one of the AMC anthology The Terror, penned the scripts.

“They say there’s a project that changes the heart of you being a filmmaker and a person. No doubt, Pachinko is that project for me,” said Hugh. “It’s just the story of my ancestors. Not even my compliment to them ” to all the ‘Sunjas’ deeply buried in all of our family’s history. It is an incredible honor to bring this series to life with this devoted and talented cast and crew.”

Meanwhile, Pachinko is an 8-part global project produced in Korean, Japanese, and English. The first three episodes will be released on March 25th, with additional episodes released every Friday until April 29th.
