Song Kang Ho, Im Soo Jung and Jeon Yeo Been will work together in Kim Jee Woon’s new film Cobweb (literal title). On the 30th, multiple industry insiders have reported that the three actors will be starring in Cobweb and are now working out the details.
Cobweb is a story written within a frame narrative. Originally written by director Sin Yeon Sik, Song Kang Ho was considered to play the lead character in the movie. However, the project was put on hold due to its budgeting constraints.
Later on, Choi Jae Won, the founder of Anthology Studios, revived the project. With Dr. Brain director Kim Jee Woon taking the directorial seat, Song Kang Ho has been once again tapped to play the lead character in the movie. The duo had previously collaborated on The Good, The Bad, The Weird, and The Age of Shadows.
Im Soo Jung also had worked with director Kim Jee Woon in A Tale of Two Sisters. Reports say that she is currently coordinating details with the Coweb team after receiving a starring role in the movie. In addition, Jeon Yeo Been is also in talks to hop on the project if her schedule allows.
Song Kang Ho and Im Soo Jung will play the characters who reside in the film, while Jeon Yeo Been takes the character in a film within a film.
Cobweb will be the first film that Anthology Studios will present. The production company aims to complete the casting process and start filming in February next year.
