The Silent Sea tells the story of elite crews who leave for a research base abandoned on the moon to carry out a special mission. The series is set in 2075, where the Earth is devastated by the depletion of essential resources. And today, Netflix dropped the captivating main trailer.

The released trailer begins by showing the devastating sight of Earth. The depletion of essential resources threatens the survival of the planet and all living things. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute plans to explore the moon again in search of the answer to human survival and selects elite crew, including space biologist Song Ji An (Bae Doo Na), exploration leader Han Yoon Jae (Gong Yoo), and chief engineer Ryu Tae Seok (Lee Joon). Their destination is the Balhae Lunar Research Station, which was closed due to an accident five years ago.

With the heavy mission to “recover important samples remaining in the base,” the crew heads to the moon. But their mission faces a major crisis from the start when their spacecraft crash lands on the moon. On top of that, unknown mysteries are lurking in the station. When dead bodies with unknown causes of death and unidentified bio-signals are found, the crew falls into chaos. Song Ji An starts distrusting the government’s report about the base being permanently closed due to an accident and grows more suspicious of the secret hidden in the Balhae Station.

Moreover, the phrase, “A deadly mission will uncover the darkest secrets on the moon,” catches the eye. Can the crew members who jumped into the mission come back alive safely?

Meanwhile, Netflix’s original series The Silent Sea will be released on December 24th.
