Song Joong Ki and Park So Dam to Host the 26th Busan International Film Festival’s Opening Ceremony

Song Joong Ki and Park So Dam will host the opening ceremony of the 26th Busan International Film Festival at the Busan Cinema Center on Wednesday evening of October 6th.

This year, Song Joong Ki has enjoyed phenomenal success with multiple hit series like the Netflix movie Space Sweepers and the tvN’s drama series Vincenzo.

Park So Dam has gained the hearts of the global audience with her impressive performance that added density to the movie Parasite playing Ki Jung, the youngest daughter living in a semi-basement flat.

Unlike last year’s smaller-scale event due to pandemics, this year’s festival will screen all selected films in theaters, and a majority of domestic and foreign guests such as director Bong Joon Ho and Leo Carax give life to the event.

Director Lim Sang Soo’s Heaven: To the Land of Happiness, starring Choi Min Sik and Park Hae Il, was selected to premiere on the opening night. Moreover, in this year’s newly established On Screen section, director Yeon Sang Ho’s Hellbound and director Kim Jin Min’s My Name will have their screening at the event. Watcha’s original short film project Unframed, which will will be the directorial debut of �Park Jung Min, Son Seok Gu, Choi Hee Seo, and Lee Je Hoon, was also listed in the Today-Panorama category of Korean films.

The 26th Busan International Film Festival will run for ten days from October 6th to 15th in Busan.
