After shining bright at the Cannes, Jeon Jong Seo is gearing up to head to the Venice International Film Festival.

According to the film industry, on the 26th, Jeon Jong Seo will walk the red carpet at the 78th Venice International Film Festival for her Hollywood debut film Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon.

Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon is a fantasy adventure film about a girl, Lunatic, with a strange and dangerous power. After escaping from a mental institution, she tries to live on her own. An English-born Iranian-American director, Ana Lily Amirpour, will exec produce, featuring Hollywood star Kate Hudson.

Previously in 2018, she starred in Lee Chang Dong’s Burning, which led her to walk down the red carpet at Cannes. Following her spectacular debut in the renowned event, she will now head to the Venice Film Festival for the first time in three years, announcing her appearance at the world’s top three film festivals.

Jeon Jong Seo was critically acclaimed for her performance as a despicable female killer in the Netflix film Call (Directed by Lee Chung Hyun), which is now available in more than 190 countries. In addition, she has been offered to star in the Korean reboot of the hit series Money Heist and recently joined the production. Last but not least, in May, she signed an exclusive contract with Hollywood agency UTA, which manages Anthony Hopkins, Jessica Alba, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Meanwhile, the 78th Venice International Film Festival will run from September 1st to September 11th in Venice, Italy. Director Bong Joon Ho will join the event as the jury.
