IU mentioned her brother, who is currently serving on his military duty.
In the 100th episode of tvN’s Yoo Quiz On The Block, IU appeared as a guest. During her talks, she brought up her younger brother.
“I am fond of him, but I made many mistakes when we were young. He enlisted about two weeks ago,” IU shared. The host, Yoo Jae Suk, asked her, “I guess everyone will go crazy if they knew he was IU’s younger brother.” But IU answered, “Not really. He kept this a secret his whole life. Only four or five close friends know about me. He told mom that he has managed to keep it as a secret.”
She added, “My brother and I look so much alike. And it’s well known that my brother’s name is Lee Jong Hoon. So he said people are catching on to the fact that he looks quite like me and that his name is Lee Jong Hoon. But he’s still playing possum,” making everyone laugh out loud.
To the question, “What is the phrase you heard the most from your brother,” she replied, “We don’t talk much.” Hearing that, Yoo Jae Suk asked, “Then what is the phase you say the most to your brother?” IU answered, “I say ‘we do look alike.’ I tell him that he looks like me only on my bad days,” making everyone burst into laughter.
