Song Kang has returned to small screens as a ballet dancer.
TvN’s new Monday and Tuesday series Navillera had drawn much anticipation even before its start and finally kicked off on the 22nd. Viewers paid close attention to Song Kang’s transformation into his character.
The show gained attention from its casting stage, primarily because it is based on a webtoon of the same name. The first episode raised expectations for the entire plot with breathtaking looks and the actors’ realistic performance. Chae Rok, played by Song Kang, was discouraged by the brutal reality despite his gifted talents as a ballet dancer.
He works part-time for a living even before a nationwide ballet audition. He visits his mother in the columbarium, telling her that the audition is on the day of his father’s release. It made the viewers realize that the character has an atypical history and his own set of struggles.
The unusual encounter of Park In Hwan and Song Kang stimulated expectations for their future bromance relationship. Chae Rok was caught off guard when Deok Chul (Park In Hwan) brought up that he wants to study ballet. Later, Chae found out that he has to give lessons to Deok and jumped out of his skin, signaling their chemistry in the next episode.
