Red Velvet’s Wendy is taking her steps as a solo singer!
SM Entertainment informed SpoTV news on the 10th that Wendy is currently working on a solo album “intending to release it in April.” They asked for a lot of anticipation from everyone.
This is the first time Wendy will make her solo debut since Red Velvet’s debut back in 2014. She is the first person to go solo in seven years since debuting. Though members’ solo songs have been released before for OSTs or projects, this is the first time someone has officially made a solo debut.
Above all, it is exciting that Wendy’s return to the scene is through her solo album. After suffering from an injury falling down the stage at SBS’s Gayo Daejun in 2019, she has been focusing on her recovery.
As she made her return gradually by participating in BoA’s 20th-anniversary project Our Beloved BoA last August, Wendy has been making appearances on screen as an MC of JTBC’s Mysterious Record Shop. Thus, this new album is Wendy’s solo debut and return to the music industry.
Especially as the group’s main vocalist, Wendy owns a voice that suits every genre. She boasts a stable vocal due to her great range. Hence the expectations for her activities as a solo artist are even more looked forward to.
