On the 18th, the Seoul Western District Court ordered Lim Seul Ong to be fined 7 million Won (approximately 6.3k USD). He was given a summary order, which refers to the court’s sentence after reviewing the case documents without a formal trial.

Lim Seul Ong was driving an SUV on a road in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul in August last year as he hit a jaywalker who walked while the light was red. While he was taken to a nearby hospital, he ended up passing away.

At the time, Lim Seul Ong expressed his condolences saying, “I pray for the repose of the deceased. I know how painful the members of the bereaved family must be, and I offer a deep apology to them.”

Prosecution services summarily sentenced Lim Seul Ong on charges of violating the Special Act on Traffic Accidents as they took into consideration the fact that he came into a mutual agreement with the bereaved family back in November last year.
