He released the new song “Cough Syrup” at noon KST on January 15th on domestic and international music platforms such as Flo, Melon, Genie, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, QQ Music, and Kogou Music.

This is not his first release. The song was pre-released at SM’s joint concert SMTOWN LIVE Culture Humanity, which was aired around the world, free of charge, on January 1st and has set the record for most viewers in Korea’s online concert history. Its official release is expected to draw positive responses.

The new song has been released as a part of SM ‘STATION’. The ‘STATION’ presents a variety of music created by various singers collaborating with producers and composers.

It has been a year and two months since Kangta and ‘STATION’ met. Earlier in November of 2019, the singer participated in “STATION X 4 LOVEs for Winter Part.1.” This is the first time in five years that he has released a new solo song, after his first mini-album Home in November 2016.

“Cough Syrup,” which already took its veil off in the midst of domestic and foreign attention, is a trendy R&B that combines sensuous beats and melodies.

Kangta also appears in the music video for his new song. He completed the video which is perfect for the song as it portrays the painful and lonely feelings of a post-breakup.
