The 2020 MBC Entertainment Awards will be broadcast live on Dec 29. However, Lee Hyori, who showed great performances through How Do You Play? this year, will not be attending the event.

The 2020 MBC Entertainment Awards has prepared a festive gift-like event so that people that are forced to stay indoor these days could forget about the pandemic and enjoy the moment. The ceremony will be hosted by Jun Hyun Moo, Jang Do Yeon and Ahn Bo Hyun.

MBC has announced that they will be preparing top-of-the-line quarantine measures, such as temperature checkups, transparent screens, masks and full-body sterilizers. To ensure safety, the presenters and the awardees will give out and receive awards in a non-contact manner. The trophy will be placed on the table, and the winner will take the trophy once the presenters leave the table. The microphone cover will be replaced with every award.

However, Lee Hyori decided to sit out of the event. Initially, she intended to attend the ceremony as she spent a splendid year with How Do You Play?, but considering her circumstance of having to fly to Seoul from Jeju Island, she decided not to make a trip to MBC headquarters after much discussion. With this, Refund Sisters will not be performing their song, but Lee Hyori will still make her special appearance, soothing the disappointments.

The 2020 MBC Entertainment Awards will be held on Dec 29 at 8:45 pm KST.
