Jang Hyuk turns into a ruthless gangster.

According to Jang Hyuk’s agency Sidus HQ, Jang Hyuk has confirmed his appearance in the movie Gangneung (literal title). With this project, Jang Hyuk will present the essence of a cruel and virulent villain.

Gangneung tells the story of gangsters who want to take over Gangneung for their own benefit, and Jang Hyuk plays Min Suk, a Korean-Chinese-born gangster who strengthened his power through the private loan business. As Min Suk is a character who had to be cruel and ruthless in order to survive, Jang Hyuk will hit the apex of his cold-blooded acting.

Jang Hyuk said, “It felt new because it seemed like a new kind of noir film that became possible in 2020. Min Suk is a character that can be interpreted in three dimensions, so he came very attractive, and I am looking forward to working with the director to create a more dreamy and colorful work. I’m thrilled to be working with great actors in an amazing place called Gangneung, so I will try my best to portray a persuasive antagonist. Please look forward to it.”

Since Jang Hyuk flawlessly played another villain role in the 2016 film Ordinary Person, attention focuses on what he will show this time.

Meanwhile, Gangneung will start filming by the end of this month.
