BLACKPINK and BTS each landed at No. 1 and No. 2 on Billboard Artist 100, proving their global power.

On Oct. 13 (local time), Billboard announced that BLACKPINK blasted to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart thanks to the release of their first full-length album.

With this, BLACKPINK added another record to their record-breaking streak. Not only did they set their own new best record, but they also became the first K-pop girl group lead Artist 100, dating to the chart’s 2014 inception.

BTS, who recently dominated the Billboard Hot 100 chart by putting their songs at No. 1 and No. 2 (“Savage Love” and “Dynamite”), also came in second on Artist 100. Billboard wrote, ‘With BTS at No. 2, K-pop acts claim the top two for the first time.’

According to Billboard, the Artist 100, which launched in 2014, measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
