On Oct. 5, CAP-TEEN announced that Soyou joined the project as a judge.

Soyou became the third judge, following Lee Seung Chul and Jessi, on Mnet’s teen audition program CAP-TEEN. Also known as the “goddess of chemistry,” Soyou has worked with the best K-pop artists of the time, from Giriboy and Mad Clown to EXO’s Baekhyun and Lim Young Woong, showing perfect flexibility regardless of genre. Soyou is expected to serve as a “chemistry booster” not only as a link between Lee Seung Chul and Jessi but also between parents and teenagers.

In particular, the fact that Lee Seung Chul was the one who recommended Soyou as a judge draws keen attention. Jessi is also known to be an artist Soyou wanted to collaborate with, adding to the expectation of the chemistry that the three judges will create together.

Meanwhile, Soyou, who made her debut as SISTAR at the age of 19, expressed her determination, saying, “I can fully understand the participants’ position because I know how excited and hard it was to be a teenager who dreams of becoming a singer. I will be careful in giving advice, but I’ll do my best as a judge while trying to recognize the brilliant talents of these teenagers.”

Mnet’s CAP-TEEN is scheduled to premiere in November.
