Hellbound is a story about a supernatural phenomenon where supernatural beings from hell appear out of nowhere to condemn people to hell. It doesn’t matter whether this phenomenon is a blessing or a curse. A new religious group interprets this as the will of the divine. Highly-charged story about people who must survive in social chaos will unfold.

The story was originally published as a webtoon titled Hell, which garnered much attention even from the start as the collaborative work of director Yeon Sang Ho and illustrator Choi Gyu Seok, the author of Awl.

The two will join hands once again in Hellbound. The duo will work on script together, while Yeon Sang Ho will also direct the production, further expanding the themes and views of the story. Choi Gyu Seok’s Awl was adapted as a television drama in 2015, and Yeon Sang Ho expanded his scope of activities once again by acting as a scriptwriter for popular tvN drama The Cursed, produced by Lezhin Studio. Besides his globally acclaimed 2016 film Train to Busan, Yeon Sang Ho has directed its sequel Peninsula, which is getting ready to meet the moviegoers soon.

Hellbound, produced by Lezhin Studio, will be available only on Netflix in more than 190 countries.
