Sandara Park starred in “Video Star” aired on Feb. 4 and confessed her feelings when her group 2NE1 disbanded.
This episode of “Video Star” ran a special feature titled “My Rough Thoughts, Anxieties ~ No More No More.” Communication expert Kim Chang-Ok appeared as an instructor to talk with the MC and other cast members. During this process, Park burst into tears.
Sandara Park spoke of her rocky time trying to make it as a solo artist and expressed her fears of being asked what she was going to do next. She then added how she never felt like she was ever needed on the team. “Other members were such great singers, I always thought I was going to be a burden. I never got to enjoy the moments,” she confessed.
After 2NE1 disbanded, she “wondered what to do in the future.” She wept saying, “I’ve had very negative thoughts for two or three years and lost a lot of confidence. I’ve lost contact with people who used to be so close and have been living in the dark past two years.”
Now she tells how she finally found her happiness saying, “One day everything got better. Now I realize who my real friends are.” Then Sandara added, since CL who is the life of the party is not around, she is even playing her part. She finished by saying she feels sorry that she never got to enjoy her life like she does now.
2NE1 debuted in 2009 with “Fire.” Since then, they have released hit songs such as “I Don’t Care,” “Go Away,” “Lonely,” and “I Am The Best” every year. However, 2NE1 disbanded in 2016 when Minzy quit the band and Park Bom left because of her drug usage.
