BLACKPINK’s Lisa is opening up about the pressures of life in the spotlight as renewed attention turns to rumors surrounding her relationship with Frédéric Arnault.
On June 23rd local time, Vanity Fair released its summer cover story, “The Life of a K-Pop Showgirl,” spotlighting Lisa’s life as a global star.
In the article, the magazine noted that Lisa and Arnault “seem to have now called it quits.” Vanity Fair also said Lisa’s team asked ahead of the interview that questions about her personal life and relationships be avoided. Lisa did not directly address her dating life in the interview.
Lisa was first linked to Arnault, the son of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault, in July 2023 after the two were spotted together at a restaurant in Paris. Since then, sightings of the two on dates and reportedly traveling with family fueled both dating and marriage rumors, though neither side publicly confirmed the relationship.
Breakup speculation picked up again in March, when Arnault was not seen at Lisa’s 29th birthday party in Bali. Fans also took notice after Thai actor Blue Pongtiwat appeared among the guests at the celebration, which Lisa described as her “last 20s with my precious people.”
Instead of discussing romance, Lisa spoke candidly about the lack of privacy that comes with fame.
“I love my fans and I love meeting them in public, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming,” she said. “Sometimes it feels like too much, and I just want to live normally.”
She also recalled frightening encounters with sasaeng fans, including people waiting outside her home and an incident where someone tried to get into the taxi she was about to take.
Still, Lisa said she has noticed a change after speaking publicly about having almost no privacy. “After I opened up about having no private life, I feel like fans are giving me much more respect,” she said.
Lisa has recently been expanding her global presence, including her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus and a performance at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles on June 12th.
