Kim Seon Ho is ready to showcase a new side of his acting prowess.
The upcoming Disney Plus original series The Tyrant is a chase action thriller that unravels when the last sample of the “Tyrant Program” goes missing due to a delivery mishap. This leads to a high-stakes pursuit as various individuals with different agendas race to retrieve it. Directed by Park Hoon Jung, known for New World, The Witch series, and The Childe, The Tyrant marks his first foray into series direction.
The series stars Cha Seung Won, Kim Seon Ho, Kim Kang Woo, and Jo Yoon Soo. The anticipation is high for Kim Seon Ho’s transformation in this series. Previously, Kim Seon Ho made a striking screen debut in Park Hoon Jung’s film The Childe, earning the Best New Actor awards at the Grand Bell Awards and the Buil Film Awards.
In The Tyrant, Kim Seon Ho plays Director Choi, the architect of the Tyrant Program, who strives to protect it from external forces. His character is a humorless elite agent, showcasing a different side of Kim Seon Ho.
“I wanted to take on a role that was lonely and isolated, different from what I’ve played before,” Kim Seon Ho shared. “I worked closely with Director Park Hoon Jung to capture the intricate emotions and subtle changes in each scene.”
Cinematographer Kim Young Ho praised the actor, stating, “He is particularly powerful in close-up scenes that require the expression of subtle emotions.”
The Tyrant will be available on Disney Plus with all four episodes releasing on August 14th.
