Ha Ji Won and Kang Ha Neul are returning to the small screen.
KBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Curtain Call: A Trees Dies Standing Up (literal title) tells the stories of people involved in the greatest con in history as one man tries to make a dying elderly woman’s wish come true. On Wednesday, the production team released the new still photos of Ha Ji Won and Kang Ha Neul.
The individual stills show contrasting images of Yoo Jae Heon (Kang Ha Neul), a young theater actor with a gentle expression, and Park Se Yeon (Ha Ji Won), a competent hotel general manager in a stylish suit. But the two shots of these two show them having an intimate conversation inside the car and Park Se Yeon fixing Yoo Jae Heon’s tie, creating a mysterious, maybe affectionate, vibe between them.
Yoo Jae Heon starts acting as an elderly woman’s (Ko Doo Shim) grandson from North Korea to fulfill her final wish. He’s innately positive and optimistic, but the more he immerses himself in the role of her grandson, the more he feels guilty about lying to a woman who trusts him. And Park Se Yeon, the youngest daughter of the family who owns Hotel Paradise, undergoes various emotional changes after meeting Yoo Jae Heon. A man who disappeared into his role and a woman who watches his performance – what kind of story will they tell?
